After the first stones were laid in 375 A.D., a series of fire and cultural revolutions such as the Reform in the 16th century threatened - but did not ruin - the edifice. Instead, the place underwent a series of regular extensions and reconstructions through the course of its history, that are each characteristic of their contemporary style and customs. For this reason, the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre is the majestic reunion of Roman, Gothic and Neoclassic styles. It now stands still as the main protestant church of Geneva, in the heart of the city's Vieille-Ville. In July 2009, Geneva's St. Peter's Cathedral was included in the "European Heritage" list of honor, in recognition of its significant historical and cultural value to European history. ☞ About Post Tenebras Lux by Folamour (Cercle Records) Post Tenebras Lux - "Light After Darkness" in latin - is an ode to hope, capable of shedding light in the darkest of nights. The Sel (a natural cave used for shelter) inside is one of the best-preserved remnants in the history of Iceland. In 1755, when Katla erupted, six men took shelter in the cave during the glacier burst. Their signatures, plus the date and year of their stay there, are written on the wall and are clearly visible as you enter the cave. Yet what makes Hafursey such a unique location is also the sublime diversity of wild, extraterrestrial landscapes that compose the area. The lonely Inselberg is surrounded by vast valleys of volcanic sand, sanders, glaciers, and waterfalls that render one of the most special, almost lunar sceneries in the world. ☞ About Hafursey (Yfir) by Ólafur Arnalds (Cercle Records) « Yfir » ("Above") is a musical journey through Iceland's various moods and seasons. At times, the music swells with a powerful surge, mirroring the crashing waves against rocky cliffs or the thunderous roar of a distant volcano. Other moments evoke a sense of stillness and serenity, echoing the peacefulness found in secluded valleys and hidden fjords near the inselberg of Hafursey. The song is the continuation of another track written by Ólafur, Undir: “We’ve been playing Undir for 5 years, and rearranged it every time for each set, changing every element one by one. Last year, we realized the latest version of Undir was not the same track that the one we originally composed! On the occasion of our Show with Cercle, I decided to take the track back to the studio, rearranging it especially for the Show to meet Cercle’s energy”. Follow us on 🤍 Interview: Derek (Cercle): − So, I’m a bit moved because what we just experienced was incredible, but I wanted to ask how it felt to be playing in the middle of this natural landscape and not in front of people as you’re used to? Vincent (FKJ): − Well, there was a lot less pressure, less expectations, − I didn’t see the reaction of the people in front of me that I usually interpret in a good or a bad way, sometimes I do interpret their reaction the right way but sometimes it completely wrong, in the end it’s all in my head but here there’s no audience so I’m by myself, I’m a bit like in my room except that have something incredible in front of me so it was easier to adventure myself in unknown territories… Derek (Cercle): − You lost yourself in your music tonight? Vincent (FKJ): − I was Lost Derek (Cercle): − It was really incredible. − There are a lot of people that have been asking questions online but I will start with one which I believe was asked by Emero: How were you inspired by Bolivia and this specific location ? Vincent (FKJ): − Well exactly, the inspiration came from the location. − Here I didn’t want the location to be just a background to my music but my music to be the soundtrack of the location. − That’s why I didn’t play many of my songs, I played a few that I thought worked well with this location but for the rest I was just looking around and being inspired by this place, by the nature around Derek (Cercle): − It’s true that I heard many tunes that I didn’t know so there were a lot of unreleased. Vincent (FKJ): − It wasn’t even unreleased. Derek (Cercle): − They were never released. Vincent (FKJ): − Yeah, they were not unreleased, probably will never be released Derek (Cercle): − Well we were privileged to hear them. Derek (Cercle): − Often the themes that we find in your tracks are the skyline and the notion of going home: Why those two themes? What inspires you in those themes? The 155 thousand hectares is unique for its white sand dunes and topaz lagoons that the wind reshapes endlessly. ☞ About RY X - Lençóis (Love Me) RY X initially composed Lençóis (Love Me) for his live performance at the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park for Cercle. Writing the song, he "wanted to feel like it belonged to both (his) heart, and the waters and hills of this place:" "Creating and producing the song took on a life of its own spurred on by the images in my mind of these shapes of land and water". In his interview for Cercle, he portrayed the nature around him as "feminime". Lençóis (Love Me) became both "a cry of the heart to be understood deeply, especially to be taken in and held by the feminine unconditionally", and "a lament out to those lands in that same way too".
